Happy Thanksgiving!
Wishing everyone a "Happy Thanksgiving!"
Have a happy and safe holiday!
November is going by fast!
I can't believe that it is the middle of November already.
Thanksgiving is next Thursday!
I'm pretty excited about it, we will be going to my parents for dinner so it should be a nice time. This year will be different, though.. it will be the first Turkey day without turkey!
Mom mentioned something about making Italian w/out meat for us, so I thought that was thoughtful, but I'd be happy with mashed tatoes and green bean casserole. :)

Christmas is Coming
I went to Wal-mart yesterday.. not someplace that I shop at often.. and as soon as I walked in, I was met with a big sign that said "47 Days til Christmas"
I guess that is their way of letting consumers know that it's time to get shopping.
All the Christmas trees reminded me that I'm going to have to get a vacation plan together soon.
Maybe the Dominican Republic would be nice?
Jarhead
This was my movie pick for this weekend.
I thought that it was an interesting story shown from one persons perspective, and made me think about what it would be like to be on the frontline.
I'm thinking about picking up the book, just because most times the books are better and offer more detail.. There was one part that left me wanting an explanation that maybe the text version will offer..
Weekend Plans
It's Friday.
That means it's time to start making some weekend plans.
There are a few new movies out there I'd like to catch. Jarhead and Chicken Little both sound good.
I wouldn't mind knocking down some 10 pins, either. It has been a couple of months since we've went bowling, mainly because it's a struggle to break 100 and the frustration of it all made us give it a rest.
Maybe it's time to give it a try again and see if some time away won't improve my play.
If we go, I will update my score in this blog, so stay tuned!
Email made me think..
I got an Email from my sister the other day and it asked a bunch of different questions, and one of them was "where do you want to retire?"
I had to think about that one. Retirement is one of those things that seems like it is an eternity away, but time sure flies!
So, back to the question.. where to retire? Florida sounds like a great place to be, when they're not having hurricanes. Texas sounds too country for my blood.
I like having 4 seasons, not having winter would be weird. That is why
Tennessee sounds like it would be nice. It's like being back with nature, with homey folks that are always happy to see you.
I guess I have a few years before I have to decide.
Great Recipe
One of my favorite things to cook (and eat)is Tater Tot Casserole.
It is easy to make and takes about an hour in a 350 degree oven.
What you will need:
1 pound cooked ground beef or Boca Ground.
1 Can Cream of Chicken or Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 bag of Tater Tots
1 cup frozen veggies ( I use the mixed kind with corn, peas, carrots and beans)
Spray 2 Qt. Baking dish with cooking spray and put a single layer of tater tots.
Layer Cooked and drained ground beef or beef substitute on top of the taters.
Layer frozen veggies on top of the meat.
Spread condensed soup on top.
You can season with peppers, salts or other favorites.
Bake for an hour.
This is a great casserole dish everyone will enjoy.
Try it today!
